Chris loves spending time outdoors, and values wild places and open spaces. As a teenager, he built an igloo in his backyard and slept outside for weeks until it melted. A native upstate New Yorker, upon graduation from Cornell University, he set his sights on the west and never looked back. Now, his knowledge of Oregon’s geography impresses even the old-timers.
Chris enjoys the challenge of projects that benefit natural systems. He holds a B.S. in biological engineering and an M.Eng in civil engineering, and has worked in natural resources and restoration fields for over 16 years. At River Design Group, he values working on a multi-disciplinary team and with groups doing meaningful restoration work.

I was struck by lightning in 1998.

In my early 20’s, Ilived on a cattle ranch because I liked the view. On Saturdays I worked with the cowboys, and after work they all drank Coors beer and watched re-runs of “Sex and the City” on TBS.

Chris met his wife Rebecca when she showed up in his kitchen one morning.  Together, they have two young children.
