Travis Forsman, CESCLEngineering Technician
Travis Forsman was born and raised in Corvallis, Oregon. The son of a wildlife biologist and school teacher, his fascination with the outdoors was brought on at an early age and he is continually fascinated by the natural world around him. From hunting and fishing to paragliding and flying aerobatics, Travis is always challenging himself to learn, progress, master, and even teach the things he loves. He puts this same energy and enthusiasm into his work with River Design Group.

As an avid boater and outdoors-man, Travis has spent a great deal of time exploring Oregon’s waterways. These experiences have instilled a sense of stewardship and a desire to do more for our riverine ecosystems. He joined River Design Group in 2013 after 8 years of working in other various fields of engineering and truly found his calling when he was introduced to river restoration work. He enjoys the challenges and rewards of his job as an engineering/surveyor technician and hopes to one day achieve licensure as a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS).

With an educational background in Geography and Flight Technology Travis has been able to hone his piloting skills and knowledge as a flight instructor and transfer that knowledge to operating Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV’s). He is a FAA Certified Commercial Pilot and UAV Remote Pilot and oversees flight operations for the RDG Corvallis office.

“Two roads diverged in a wood and I – I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.”
