Odell Creek Dam Removal & Restoration

The Hood River Watershed Group (HRWC) retained RDG to perform dam removal and stream restoration design, permitting, and construction management for the Odell Creek Hydroelectric Project.  The existing concrete dam, fish ladder, and hydropower diversion were constructed in 1984. The concrete dam consisted of a 12 foot high structure spanning 30 feet across Odell Creek. RDG created a methodical dam removal and stream restoration plan to maximize protection of fish and aquatic resources while establishing a natural and free flowing stream system.  The project was completed under budget and on schedule.
